Cookie Policy

Effective: 1 June 2026Operator: Alt Solutions Micro-CreditJurisdiction: Republic of Ghana

This Cookie Policy explains how Alt Solutions Micro-Credit (“we,” “us,” or “our”) uses cookies and similar technologies on the Jenga Jar website and web application. It supplements our Privacy Policy and should be read alongside it.

If you only ever use the Jenga Jar mobile app, you will not encounter cookies in the strict sense; the mobile app uses similar device-side storage (described below) to keep you signed in and remember your preferences.

1.What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device by a website you visit. They are widely used to make websites work, to make them work more efficiently, and to provide information to the owner of the site.

Cookies can be:

  • First-party cookies — set by us when you visit the Jenga Jar website or web app;
  • Third-party cookies — set by a domain other than ours, typically because we have embedded a third-party service on a page;
  • Session cookies — temporary cookies that expire when you close your browser;
  • Persistent cookies — cookies that remain on your device until they expire or you delete them.

2.Categories of cookies we use

We group cookies into the four standard categories below. The actual list of individual cookies, their lifetimes, and the third-party domains that set them is published in the consent panel that opens when you click “Cookie settings” in the website footer.

Strictly necessary cookies

These cookies are essential to the operation of the Services. They allow us to sign you in, remember your session, route requests to the correct server, and apply security controls that protect your account. They cannot be disabled because the site cannot function without them.

Examples:

  • Session and authentication cookies;
  • Load-balancing and routing cookies set by our hosting infrastructure;
  • Cookies that record your cookie-consent choices so we do not ask again on every page.

Functional cookies

These cookies remember choices you have made (such as theme preference and language) so the site behaves the way you expect on your next visit. You can disable functional cookies, but features that depend on them will not work.

Analytics cookies

These cookies help us understand how users navigate the site, which pages are popular, and where users encounter difficulties. We use this data to improve the Services. We aggregate analytics data and we do not use it to identify you individually for marketing purposes. You can disable analytics cookies; doing so will not affect your ability to use the Services, but it does reduce our ability to spot and fix usability issues.

Marketing cookies

These cookies are set on our site by marketing partners to build a profile of your interests and show you relevant adverts on other sites. We set marketing cookies only with your consent; if you do not consent, none are set and no marketing identifier is shared with our partners.

3.Third-party cookies and embedded content

Some pages include content from third parties (for example, embedded videos or external help articles). Those third parties may set their own cookies, which are subject to the third party's own privacy and cookie policies. We have no control over third-party cookies; if you have a concern about a specific third-party cookie, please consult the relevant third party's policy or contact us and we will point you to the right resource.

4.Similar technologies

In addition to cookies we use other client-side storage technologies to provide the Services. These technologies are functionally similar to cookies and are treated under the same consent framework. They include:

  • Local storage and session storage in your browser, used by the web app to keep state across page navigations (for example, the contents of a half-completed form) and to cache small assets to keep the app responsive offline.
  • Service workers for offline support and push notifications on the web.
  • Secure platform storage in the mobile apps (the iOS Keychain, the Android Keystore, and React Native's encrypted store) for keeping you signed in and remembering your device preferences.
  • Push tokens issued by Apple Push Notification service, Firebase Cloud Messaging, and Web Push, used to deliver notifications you have opted into.

5.How to manage your cookies

Through our consent panel

When you visit the Jenga Jar website for the first time you are asked to consent to the categories of cookies you would like us to set. You can change your choices at any time by clicking “Cookie settings” in the footer of any page. Strictly necessary cookies cannot be turned off because the site cannot function without them.

Through your browser

All modern browsers let you view, manage, and delete cookies. You can typically find these controls in the “Privacy” or “Security” section of your browser settings. The specific steps vary; we link to manufacturer documentation in the consent panel for the major browsers.

Blocking strictly necessary cookies in your browser will prevent you from signing in. Blocking other categories may degrade some features.

On your mobile device

For our mobile apps, you can clear app data, sign out of all sessions from your profile, and disable push notifications through your device's system settings.

Do-not-track

Web browsers may transmit a “do-not-track” signal. There is no universally agreed standard on how such a signal should be interpreted. At this time we do not respond to do-not-track signals; we instead rely on the granular controls described above, which give you fine-grained control over what we set and why.

6.Consequences of disabling cookies

Disabling cookies may affect your experience of the Services. In particular:

  • You may need to sign in repeatedly across pages and sessions;
  • Preferences such as theme will not persist between visits;
  • We will not be able to remember whether you have already accepted or rejected cookie consent, and you will see the consent panel on every visit;
  • We will have less visibility into the issues you encounter, which limits our ability to improve the Services.

7.Changes to this Cookie Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in technology, regulation, or our use of cookies. When we do, we will update the “Effective” date at the top of this Policy and, where the change is material, we will notify you through the Services.

8.Contact us

If you have a question about this Cookie Policy or how we use cookies, please write to us at inquiries@altsolutionsgh.com with the subject line “Cookie Policy”.
